A new day. A new chance to succeed. The morning readings both spoke to making choices. Whether to worship or defy whatever deity on the one hand and choosing how to respond to an unexpected event on the other.I choose calm.I don't always achieve it. Sometimes I get overwhelmed, swept away in the flow. Spun senseless in the maelstrom.But I still try for it because the alternative is surrender.That just seems pointless.May you find your moments of calm and hold them dear #today

@joyce It is definitely a mixed up day. I have a lot of thoughts about Kent State and the years since, but I'll keep those to myself because there are too many four-letter words.I do hope your dentist visit is painless and that the read-through is also pain free.

@brnrd @That_One_Guy Just a heads up that it isn't always a ring - mine wasn't.But mine was angry, purple, and quickly getting HUGE, along with a weird fever, so I got it checked out early. The CDC has (had?) a gallery showing a variety of rashes that it may look like. And mine was in there.

@Sharonbw The Kentucky Derby is always a fun event to watch. I love the fascinators. Dylan Dryer did a segment this morning with the woman who creates hers. They showed a grren one that called to me. Like I'd ever wear one. Enjoy race day!

A new day. A new chance to succeed.A mostly routine day, I hope. I need to restore my Practice after a 10 day interruption.It's okay. I can do it. I've done it before. I can do it again.While it's frustrating to have a streak broken, stressing over the break does no good. Instead I'll be glad for the nearly 4 months where it all worked.And begin again knowing that, normally, the Practice holds up. Even improves over time.May your new beginnings all work out #today

I have to wait and see how it develops, but I may have discovered what was causing some fatigue/unsteadiness I've been experiencing for a couple months. Also maybe connected to symptoms I've had earlier. We'll see, but I'm very hopeful and will report when I've got more data. Anyway, this is the first day of gathering that data.

Good morning!Well, after my snarky post yesterday evening about bad weather reporting, it did rain for most of the night, leading to a chilly, wet early morning walk. The April showers are bringing the May flowers, albeit more slowly than usual.Another day of writing and chores, with my weekly phone call to my sister this afternoon. Remember, tomorrow is May Day. @CatDragon In Canada, I learned from a young age that there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. We learned as much in our civics classes in school. I vote for the candidate in my riding that I think will best represent me at the current time. Over the years I've voted for candidates in different parties - whatever made sense at the time.I don't understand the idea picking a "team" in politics. There's never a perfect choice so choose who will be the best, even if all the options aren't great. And always, always, vote. Vote in every election at every level. I have never missed an election; from school trustees, municipal, provincial, and federal. Every election is critical and every vote is important.I wish all my friends in the US all the best as they deal with these uncertain times. Your friends in Canada are rooting for you to come together and make things better. ️

Perhaps I'm just caught up on sleep after a couple of weeks of mostly solid nights.Or just because.I often get caught up looking for causes or reasons. Sometimes the answer is obvious.Something I did caused the problem.In most cases, it's luck. Good or bad. Looking for causes just delays working the problem.Either way, I hope you work the problem instead of looking for blame #today
