@timcoucou No plan for smartcontracts in ELFA. We encourage you to ask the question to @nextgraph .

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@humanhorseshoes @artfulrobot We gathered spontaneously, knowing each other from the FOSS communities. We found complementarity, as each partner is responsible for their own area of development and expertise.

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@flq yes, as all projects funded by the Next Generation Internet initiative of the European Commission, and the NLnet foundation.

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@timcoucou No AI planned for now on our side.
ELFA is an open platform where the user has full access and control over their data. If some developers want to add AI to their own system based on ELFA, they can. -
We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@iuvi We are planning on adding Post Quantum Cryptography to the Suite! Stay tuned. PQC is going to be mandatory by the end of 2030, according to EU Cyber Resilience Act.

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.Hi @tml and thanks for your question. We are glad you asked.
There is no AI in ELFA and no plan to have it.
As you must know (being in the business of collaborative software) BlockNote is a library/component that is used in hundreds of products, and only offers AI for those who want it.
ELFA counts as its partner the wonderful BlockNote team, and we are going to work together to bring the best note taking, personal knowledge manager, and wiki to ELFA, without AI. -
We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.Hi @Frost, and thank you for your interest in ELFA! There are several existing alternatives that are readily avaialble. NextCloud is one of them. Those suites lack for now some important features: federation, end-to-end encryption, local-first and CRDTs. And we will be very happy to work with them to provide them access to those features. ELFA is an open platform looking for interoperability and convergence with other solutions. We are open to talk with NextCloud for collaboration!

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@humanhorseshoes @artfulrobot We at ELFA don't "accept" chat control. We would like it not to be adopted. We consider that E2EE and privacy is a fundamental right to every citizen. We also consider that such legislation would not improve the security situation. Chat control is not adopted yet, but we don't know what will be in the future.

Why do these European Digital Sovereignty projects insist using Microsoft GitHub when European alternatives are available?@lehtimaeki We don't insist on using GitHub.
There is a link to a github account that is empty for now. It is just a placeholder that reserves the name there.
NextGraph is the stack of ELFA and you will see that it uses Gitea exclusively (with a read-only mirror to GitHub) that will be migrated to Forgejo soon.
For ELFA proper, we will setup a Forgejo instance, with a read-only backup on github, hence all issues and PR will be done on Forgejo
Thanks for your interest in this important detail. -
We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.Hi @timcoucou thanks for your interest and enthusiasm! The stack is based on Nextgraph, Tauri for native apps, and React combined with Svelte. The SDK for third party apps is for now available in React, Svelte and Vue, could be extended.

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite.@jan Indeed, there are some similarities in the set of apps. It is a similar case as with other existing Suites : they lack for now some important features: federation, end-to-end encryption, local-first and CRDTs. And we will be very happy to work with them to provide them access to those features. ELFA is an open platform looking for interoperability and convergence with other solutions. We talked with ZenDiS during FOSDEM last week. Let's see how we could make this collaboration happen

We are very happy to announce that the European Commission is funding the ELFA consortium to build a local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace suite. Thanks for your question @artfulrobot
The answer is that you can self-host. Chat control only applies to large service providers. With ELFA you can also self-host at home, with a small NAS device. It is federated and works without need for a domain name. -
