@chris to clarify, I don't run Mastodon, but my rpi-5 Trixie runs Pixelfed, Nextcloud, WordPress and Jellyfin, although jellyfin struggles with a few transcodings.My laptop is no slouch, 16GB quad-Intel 2.6GHz yet with all the overhead and proxying of snaps, Ubuntu could take upwards of ten seconds to change context or open a plasma menu. I had to adapt to gnome, but that was relatively painless.

That said, I can understand why someone may want to defederate with poa.st or nicecrew.digital as their users tend to make up the majority of the caustic material coming from those instances.That said, I wouldn't have been fair to @niggy@poa.st or @scenesbycolleen@poa.st for example to defederate poa.st as they're some of the most unusually wholesome people from there. Used to think the same about one particular user in nicecrew.digital until I heard that they were a journalist using the support they got from fringe communities to get replacement teeth while writing an expose on them. Haven't had the time to look into the validity of that, though. Though position on that matter aligns with your own, that incidents which occur should be handled on a case-by-case basis rather than dismissively attribute it to an entire demographic.Y'know, I don't doubt that most people would have been of the same opinion at some point but have since given up on trying to reason with bad actors wasting time by acting without good faith or intentions.@xaetacore @FediTips@social.growyourown.services

@ai6yr It's not just Mastodon.World... A lot of them were. The images lists all the ones, which sent the same type messages this round of spam that I detected... They even jumped to Vivaldi. Fedi admins with open sign-ups,There are scammers active at the moment, and all of the scammer accounts have signed up on servers with instant signups.To put the scammers off signing up on your server, you might want to set your sign-ups to "approval required".To do this on Mastodon go to Preferences > Administration > Server Settings > Registrations tab > Who can sign up > Approval required, then click save changes.#FediAdmin #MastoAdmin

@fname Assuming you have no S3 storage and are using local, then you need to backup public/system, along with the postgresql database. And you need to backup the .env.production.
