    @Pine_Affinity @Netraven @mcnado

if no one on the left shows up, spineless corporatist dems win, because spineless corporatist dems show up to vote

but what you are saying is you want people you know are rotten to the core to suddenly and magically grow a conscience and resign?

rather than, you know, just getting off your ass and voting them out?

    that's the way it works

why would you argue against the only way to remove them, and argue for a behavior which ensures their continuing power?

@Pine_Affinity @benroyce @Netraven @mcnado I really don't understand why can't Americans accept that the democratic party is an imperialist party for the elites that doesn't answer to its people. Why can't you build actual grassroot movements and put forward your own candidates that are not compromised by the democratic party systems of control? Far easier task than changing the democratic party from within.

yeah but despite all of the shadow money we can still vote

especially in the primaries coming up

so many elections are decided by such a small percentage

and such a large percentage don't vote

yeah not all of them are leftists but if leftists did show up imagine the difference

the problem is this sort of mindless cynicism, that something is inevitable. it's not

        vote, assholes

why would anyone give dark money what it wants by not voting?

        Yes! Voting!
And not be purists who only vote for The Perfect Candidate. Because not voting for The Perfect Candidate means voting by omission: for the bad guys.

It’s like brainwashing. We’ve been voting for ‘the best possible’ Dem candidates for decades and it brought us to this exact moment.

a 3rd party divides the left vote and ensures MAGA domination

we need to take over the democrats. i don't like it. it's just the most feasible option

the problem with international observers like yourself is you come from a different voting system

            the usa is FPTP

meaning there will only ever be 2 parties (we need RCV to fix that)

            it's not corruption, it's math

There is ALWAYS something one won't agree with. People always have something to complain about, something they miss, they can have different opinions on something.
It is all about moving in the right, general direction. Holding hands with one another, moving together, getting on the bus accepting annoying stops, but knowing that in the end, we will end up where we want to be, and in the process getting rid of those who are not willing to move.

on the contrary, it's people not voting because they are uneducated how our voting system works that makes us stuck

                we can't have 3rd parties

not because of corruption, but because of math

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duverger%27s_law

we need ranked choice voting to fix that

then we can have stable viable 3rd parties

You don't have a party on the ballot. You have specific candidates and specific issues, and you should pick the best option on the ballot for each item.

It is a harm reduction test, and not voting hands the choice to people who will be energized to give you the worst outcome

Incredible to think that people who can’t stand to vote for Genocide Party A are the ones who are doing the dividing.
                    This party is not reformable.
I will see you in another year when Schumer is still leader.

Asking them to eject a leader who illegally and unconditionally supports a genocidal nation is wanting magic?

This should be the bare minimum to exist as a political party much less a human being.

Yes, you are asking for magic.

At the time that you vote, ejection is not on the menu and wishing it to be is magical thinking

By all means demand that the party eject people who don't meet requirements, but if you abstain to vote, you hand your vote to the worst outcome

                                replace them

that is how we fix it

all you are doing is arguing for a behavior, nonparticipation, which ensures fascism marches forward

                                why would you do that?

Also, I really find 'left' and 'right' nonsensical and yet, everyone uses it. It's divisive.

                                      voting doesn't work?

sitting there doing nothing but expecting centrist dems to change doesn't work

                                      just fucking vote

                                      in the primaries

                                      Is this behavior enabling fascism?

how many times have i written "show up in the primaries"

do you understand what a primary is?

                                        how did we get mamdani?

was it because of people like you going "nothing changes. waah. everything sucks and then you die. waah"

or was it from people voting?

If someone didn't vote at all, they voted my omission for this hellscape we're in now.
