    @sundogplanets Hey diddle diddle- the cow jumped over the moon. Supposedly source of saying “over the moon” as in extremely happy.

      @sundogplanets An Irish language one:

      An lao ite i mbolg na bó

      Which literally means "The calf eaten in the belly of the cow" which is a version of "don't count your chickens before they hatch"

        @amin @sundogplanets
        In Finnish we used to say "A man without a horse is a man without worries"
        but now we are definitely far away from any cows, sorry

              @sundogplanets There used to be a slogan for firework safety awareness, which was: "Je bent een rund als je met vuurwerk stunt". Literal translation: You are a cow if you do stunts with fireworks.

                                          For no reason at all, please give me your favourite cow-related figures of speech! (Stuff like "No use crying over spilled milk" or "until the cows come home", puns extremely welcome)

                                          @sundogplanets Sometimes you got to be the Mrs. O'Leary's cow that you want to see in the world.

                                          (a bit overwrought, sorry)
