I've argued against the existence of TSA since it's inception post-9/11. What was our vulnerability on 9/11? There were two: a missing physical security control and a psychological vulnerability. The cockpit doors were not hardened or lockable. This is a simple physical security control. The mindset of the American people was an expectation that hijackers wanted to get paid and the victims would be safe, but inconvenienced. 9/11 led to an immediate remediation of those vulnerabilities. We don't need this security theater in 2026. We can use our precious tax dollars to do real positive things for our country such as healthcare, food, housing, and education.
