OK, this is a longshot, but: have you ever run the 90s version of the FirstClass BBS server *or* did you use it back in the day? I'm trying to figure out if something is a standard feature and could use feedback from someone who might know.

I'm aware that saying "macOS is annoying me" is probably also going to get me a certain flavour of replies on the Linux user website so let me get it out of the way that I've heard of Linux before and yes, I'm considering switching, but no you don't have to tell me about it today

Wow, gross. I don't think I've ever seen Apple do a macOS upgrade hard-sell quite this aggressive before. This is un-dismissable except via "remind me later”.

Youtube tip you might find useful:

Trying to find something specific, but Youtube keeps putting irrelevant "people also search for" stuff in results? Just add a before: filter with a date in the future. "your search before:2027" gets rid of that stuff.
