@aburtch @the_etrain that was the background for my question. I would be talking about it, but unless someone calls it out I am not actively asking. At least not yet. And the transition the other way around would feel more natural to me. There are however many I feel have a presence here or would be suspected to have an interest, but I have not yet pushed for their details

@evan depends on thoroughness and what they‘re looking for specifically, I guess, but I do have to pass at least a (very) surface level one every few years for work so, I guess I do pass

@mayintoronto I'm in the younger portion of this group, however I think as the internet becomes more and more enshittified we'll get a younger and younger group of people asking:Where can I go to connect with people in a way that's not surveilled or controlled.When they ask that I think protocols, usenet, forums will be there for them should we keep them going

@evan Interesting, i did not know they were depending so much on user traffic. i stand corrected.in that case yes Wikipedia will be affected by AI absorbing most user traffic.

@evan I sometimes take a screenshot of something and send on Signal to friends if it's funny. Sometimes I share the link instead, depends on the situation. I wouldn't share on other social media (if I had any).
