Hung out for most of todays @Antisy_Training SOC summit while pretending to work. Good talks in detection engineering, socs that dont suck, new tools, and some classics. Although they seem to have abandoned the fediverse, the folks at @blackhillsinfosec give good con.

@MLE_online @tk when i was a kid it was embarassing to ride the bus and other kids used it as an insult to say someone was poor or stupid or whatever. Probably had a long tail in my town

@Viss @ai6yr I didn't know Northrop had a presence at the Poway business park. (side note - the way to remember how to spell Northrop is "there's no 'up' in Northrop")I could see why flying drones near their facility would get some people ruffled, though. Doubt the cops would do anything, but depending on what the facility was working on, someone may have done some background checking on you after that incident

If Books Could Kill (which i enjoy very much) made an episode about David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs. I trust Peter and Michael's books analyses but i went into it ready to throw hands; I love Graeber! he is a giant of unimpeachable credentials!anyway, they make some valid critiques about a book based on a popular essay, that should have stayed an essay. I wonder if David felt that writing a book about labor for popular audiences, on the overloaded beam of the phrase "Bullshit Jobs", because a publisher thought it would sell a lot of copies, was itself a bullshit job.
