nearly finished with Graeber/Wengrow's The Dawn of Everything.

it is weird to me that such a deeply researched and thoughtful book came out of the same brain as that fun but ultimately rather stupid Bullshit Jobs.

I am struck by the idea that many times through human history, groups of us have rejected our rulers and either murdered them wholesale or wandered off to try something different. I think this is worth revisiting.
