Any typos spotted in this post whisked their lovely partner (who does NOT camp) on a surprise camping trip last night. If typos spotted, they'll be speaking VERY LOUDLY because they pitched their tent under a tree full of cicadas and their ears are still ringing.
(We had such an amazing time.)

Also, the picture is the view of the beach we were camping in front of at about 9pm last night. So pretty. And so many birds and cicadas! (More in alt text)

#Spotted on an Overnight Camping Trip in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A tiny human (2?) is toddling from tent to tent, proudly holding a little pot of potatoes, explaining to all the other campers that he's cooking them for dinner.
Potatoes are serious business and he's a serious little chef.

A bunch of campervans and cars are parked at a rest area in a mountain pass overlooking a big sweeping valley.
Numerous people are sitting on towels and blankets spread on grass, eating lunch, chatting and laughing.
Wildflowers around them.
Misty mountains in the distance.

Two women (20s?) are having showers in side-by-side stalls.
Roaring along to Lola by The Kinks as it plays on the campground radio.
Howling with laughter when one yells: "Wait wait wait. I've got soap in my eyes! I forgot the words! AGH!"

A man (19?) triumphantly steps down from a campervan holding a tray with an oven-mitted hand. He announces to the world at large: "OH MY GOD! I've just made shortbread and it's SWEET AS. Someone want to share it with me?"

A young human (9?) is sitting in a park in a small bohemian country town* softly singing sea shanties while playing a ukulele.
A woman (50s?) wearing a tie dye T-shirt stops to hear him play. Her eyes closed, beaming with happiness.
