#Spotted on a Rainy Day in Aotearoa New Zealand:A man (80s?) is about to leave a supermarket as rain pours outside. A checkout operator (50s?) asks if he has an umbrella and when he replies no, she tells him to wait and returns with hers, telling him to bring it back the next time he stops by.A woman (20s?) is cruising a skate board down a rain drenched footpath. Holding up a colourful umbrella decorated with bunnies and tulips. Stopping under a shopfront overhang to secure her hair in a neat ponytail before continuing on her way. A rain drenched woman (50s?) steps into a cosy cafe. Dripping water and laughing as she looks over her shoulder at the downpour outside. A regular calls out: "Looks like you got caught in the worst of it!"She ruefully replies: "The ONE DAY I leave home without my umbrella and this happens!" A woman (30s?) is cycling down a quiet street during a light drizzle. A bright yellow rain coat on. A black and white sheepdog loping before her, leading the way. A doggy smile on his face. Two restaurant kitchen staff are huddled under the back eaves of a building. Drinking from chipped coffee mugs, surveying people running too and fro in the rain. Conversation and muted laughter in the air. Any typos spotted in this post are rather happy to be back home, cosy, warm and writing after venturing out to the shops this morning. If typos spotted, remind them to replace their umbrella. Their current one seems to enjoy turning inside out.

Any typos spotted in this post had a wonderful time on their camping trip last week. If typos spotted, they'll be checking the weather every morning, seeing if they can snatch another few days of good weather to get out in nature again before winter turns up. (Ever optimistic!)*Mice are an introduced species in Aotearoa and there are numerous programs to cull their numbers so that indigenous species can thrive. --Also, if anyone would like to support the typos on their mission to get out and about, they have a Buy Me a Coffee that is guaranteed not to be mousey. https://buymeacoffee.com/georgepenneyOr if you'd like to read over 500 of these posts, to get bonus posts and stories and to make a very non mousey author boom with happy laughter, the typos also have a rather nice patreon: https://www.patreon.com/georgepenney

#Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:In a library: A woman (50s?) with a gloriously messy bun, wearing a tartan dress is embroidering a cross-stich sampler. An overspilling basket of colourful thread at her feet. A tranquil expression on her face. People browsing shelves around her. In a library: A teen (15?) is furiously writing in a notebook. Dense slanting words. Head resting on the desk, air focused. She's got things on her mind and it's imperative gets it all down NOW.A woman (30s?) in a straw boater hat with flowers on the brim, a floral dress and bare feet is ambling along. A tiny black dog at her side with little legs a jaunty blur. Stopping every now and then to inspect a promising tree or flower. They've got nowhere to be. It's all about the journey.A couple (80s?) are sitting across from each other in a cafe. A server brings two individual quiches and they inspect them, cut them both in half and swap. Sharing two different flavours. Elbows up, knives and forks deployed. There's trencherwork to be done!A man (30s?) walks out of a supermarket with a cloth bag of groceries and then carefully begins packing some sturdy panniers on his bike. A small tent and backpack strapped to the back. A whirligig tied to the handlebars. A faint breeze making it spin. (Continued Below)

@shom I don’t really remember the book except that I was nonplussed. I’m told the movie diverges from it a bit but follows the gist . . . in strange ways. I think I liked it . . . ?@georgepenney

@georgepenney last thing I expected to hear was "comedy show about rugby" from New Zealand. It is a bit like that statement from Bill Shankley of Liverpool soccer club. "Some people say that football is a matter of life and death. They're wrong. It is much more important than that."
