I'm out of almost everything, so tomorrow is going to be a town day. Things I will enjoy: a hot shower!!! Something for dinner with lots of vegetables. Things I will not enjoy: shopping, laundry, being around people. Oh well, it's only one night and then I can go back to the woods. #Camping

Bottle Lake May 1st to 3rd Trip report. Ice was outCanoing #CanoeCamping #OntarioParks #KawarthaHighlandstill COLD! Took it slow and kept close to shore as my brother is not the most comfortable in a canoe and neither of us wanted an upset. Got to a beautiful campsite and posted up. Some winter campers had left a snow stake and some bucked firewood. Still wet but saved much work! The wind was cold and there was snow at times. Wore most of my clothing to bed each night! The trade off to the cold? No flying bugs! My brother did get a tick, and we used a tick key to get it out. TIL that ticks are active above 2c and since there were no flying bugs, we didn't bug spray up for a hike up to the lookout. All in all, good first 2 night trip of the season and looking forward to more!#Camping #Canoing #CanoeCamping #OntarioParks #KawarthaHighlands

I went for a short hike today from my camp spot in the national forest in New Mexico. There were bear tracks in the sand of the forest road I drove to get back here, within sight of my truck. I drove in here on Saturday evening; the tracks are on top of my tire tracks. So, a recent visitor. I'm not concerned, black bears tend to be quite shy unless habituated to humans which would not be the case this far back in the woods. I just think it's very cool.#Camping #Wildlife #Hiking
