I don't know how anyone is not looking up likely names in them constantly to see if they're in there and how

Currently, the outrage to the visible contents of the Epstein files is so mild that I have to think the majority of people just aren’t even casually checking them. -
If Alice makes a followers-only post, and Bob replies to it, to whom should Bob's reply be visible?Ideally visibility should be thread scoped with replies able to restrict it but not expand it

I’ve been asked on TV hits and interviews lately to explain why decentralized social media is better, especially re: Mastodon.A lot of people complained when Instagram first switched from a chronological feed to an algorithmic one.
But I think the way forward for the fediverse is communities moving here wholesale like the forkiverse server did.
I don't think people will make accounts here otherwise unless they're the kind of nerd who's interested in this (in which case selling it is easy) or they have network effects which take a long time to build up.

AI Controls (formerly 'kill switch') are landing in today's Firefox Nightly, and will land with Firefox 148 later this month.@duke_of_germany @firefoxwebdevs @jaffathecake
I was at the dentist yesterday and expressed a mildly anti LLM view to the dental assistant (something like if it's wrong some of the time you need to verify everything and at that point is it still helpful)
Her response to that made it clear that she's hated it but hasn't had the words to express it. People outside of this network don't like AI, they're just people who technology happens to rather than people who impose their will on their tech.
