@trwnh as a paranoid person, I sometimes wonder what would happen if schema.org received a court order to partially censor its schema in certain regions of the world. Or inject a backdoor key. If it prevents people from sending memes across the geofence, it’s bad.

I think the idea of "online dating" as such is flawed at its core and you can't fix it by making it privacy-respectful.Without putting emphasis on dating, pressuring the userbase in this direction and letting things flow naturally, it would be just social media and we already have that.The best we can do to encourage people getting involved romantically on Fedi is developing some sort of etiquette for it — IMO it's a problem seeking non-technological solution.

I couldn't get pixelfed to work under #NixOS. That's why I'm building pxvoid now. A simple, self-hosted web gallery with #ActivityPub integration. No multi-user management, no filters, no stories, and a local upload script. Follows and likes from the #Fediverse are possible. It's an early alpha version, but the basics work in under 1800 LoC #Python. Now all that's missing is the final design and code cleanup 🥳

@cptbutton I've tried funkwhale, but there was no music available from artists I know, since they have to upload the music themselves. You can upload music too, but have to make sure (if you make it public) to not violate copyright law.I think there is no way of streaming that is in the advantage of artist and the best way to do it (in the disadvantage of not having access to all music and spending much money) is to buy complete albums directly from the artists either as CD or as download and store them somewhere central, like NAS, clowd or funkwhale with private upload, from where you can access it from all your clients you want to.
