@ai6yr @W6KME I have an Eaton UPS. When the two lead acid batteries died and started swelling I removed them and replaced them with two LiFePO4 batteries that actually have more amp hours than the originals. It worked well through multiple outages and the only caveat I discovered was in the last outage it completely drained the batteries to a point where I needed to remove them and revive them with a charger. You can't do that with lead acid.

It is worth considering.

@david_chisnall thanks for the correction and that is true. IIIRC WSL is only an API layer where WSL2 is a full on kernel running in a custom HyperV VM.

I hate to be a bearer of bad news but if you work in IT in an administrative role and you refuse to do any kind of troubleshooting or like to sit alone in your silo, the AI is coming for you first.

None of us in IT are safe from the AI monster. But some are safer than others.

@ai6yr I do think nuclear reactors as part of a clean energy strategy is worth consideration, and that there are safe designs to consider. But thousands? lol.

We’ve come so far with wind, solar, and battery design that nuclear isn’t something we would ever need to depend upon full tilt.

They then double down when replied to with the perfectly logical statement that more than one cause can be supported at the same time.

I think this year I'm going to try learning Spanish.
