    Ich bin dem offiziellen GrapheneOS-Konto gerade entfolgt – nicht, weil ich das Projekt nicht schätze. Im Gegenteil: GrapheneOS ist im Bereich mobiler Sicherheit/Privacy weiterhin die beste Option.

    Was mich stört, sind die ständigen Seitenhiebe auf /e/OS, CalyxOS und andere Custom-ROMs - auch wenn die Kritik völlig legitim ist. Aber ich folge dem Account, um etwas über GrapheneOS zu lesen, nicht um regelmäßig zu erfahren, was andere in den Sand setzen. Wer ein starkes Projekt hat, sollte es für sich sprechen lassen.

    @kuketzblog Mein mobiles Setup ist zum Glück nicht von der Verfügbarkeit eines bestimmten Betriebssystems abhängig. Ich habe Mails, Daten oder Fotos mittlerweile so aufgestellt, dass ich jederzeit auf ein anderes Betriebssytem wechseln kann. Mein Rechner läuft mit Debian, ich nutze ein iPad und ein Pixel mit GOS. Sollte GrapheneOS aus Gründen ausfallen, suche ich was anderes.

      @kuketzblog 100% dieses. Bin dem Account vorgestern entfolgt als mir ein mehrthreadiger Anti-e/os-Beitrag die timeline zugemüllt hat. Da hatte ich mich nicht das 1. Mal über die "Art" des "Diskurs" geärgert.

      @meldrian @kuketzblog bin dem acc schon länger entfolgt. Leider hat die art wie der account geführt wird mich u. A. dazu bewegt wieder auf fairphone und lineageos zu setzten. Ja, ich kenn die nachteile, auch dass immer noch in reduzierter form an google fließen.. Aber ich wollte und will mir immer noch keine google hardware (ändert sich mit Motorola hoffentlich) anschaffen. Der account war dann noch das i tüpfelchen.

        @kuketzblog Ja, das Gejamere und die online ausgelebten Psychosen von @GrapheneOS waren für mich ein Grund, #GrapheneOS den Rücken zu kehren, als mein Pixel kaputt ging.

        Will ich mich wirklich auf ein OS verlassen, dass scheinbar von psychisch instabilen Personen stammt?

          Definiere bitte was „starkes Projekt“ bedeutet. Es mag ja technisch stark sein, aber ist es auch stark in dem Sinn, dass es sich dauerhaft trägt, oder ist die ungeschickte Kommunikation eine Folge des Drucks das Projekt am Leben zu erhalten? Wer von denen die hier davon sprechen dem Account zu entflogen haben schon mal für Graphene gespendet?

          GrapheneOS is very sustainable. They are entirely funded by donations and have a lot of funds to work with. It has existed for longer than a decade and has a very bright future. There is no pressure or desperation to keep it running like its some kind of sinking ship.

          The need to defend themselves from attacks is not due to the threat of failing, but rather that the attacks still do substantial harm regardless. Despite all the funding, GrapheneOS would be much farther than where it is now if it was not relentlessly attacked and harassed by scammers and harassers.

The projects mentioned are highly insecure and developers refuse to improve it. Some of them even attack GrapheneOS for spreading their false claims about privacy and security to sell more. If you think it’s “toxic”, think about how many activists will get arrested or even killed for using such projects.

                                          GrapheneOS is here to stay. The pressure they suffer from attacks is not creating an existential concern, rather it is severely hindering progress they would otherwise make. Its a nigh superhuman level of abuse to deal with.
