@zersiax @WeirdWriter And he's not an accessibility advocate, he knows nothing about it. He is a "human interface consultant," which is a fancy way of saying substack blogger. Totally different gig.

@zersiax @WeirdWriter Please don't. He gets enough attention as it is.

@prism @zersiax There is also that guy that created the overlay fact sheet that also proudly published a blog post where he said all AI is the best thing for accessibility and everybody should embrace AI and I’m just so tired now. I can’t remember his name, but it’s really easy to find. He’s the guy that created the overlay fact sheet

@prism @kirch That was the extent of the conversation, and I just had to leave, I was so drained and just sigh and ugh

@WeirdWriter I'm working with ancient heretical scripture at the moment and it's rather impressive what even tiny free local models can manage.

I have scripture speaking in tongues on a raspberry pi, whilst the content of the scripture is about the miracle of speaking in tongues.

I don't think you need to be blind to appreciate having a consistent workflow/interface, grep on steroids & translations aids.

Don't be sad that technology over 100yrs in development gave a blind person hope.

@matt @prism @zersiax That’s it! Yes! And he said nothing about local models VS cloud based ones, nothing about machine learning either. Gonna try to find it

@WeirdWriter I didn't know Jakob Nielsen was an AI booster now. Fun.

I guess we should find the point at which it is no longer worth reading his stuff, or should all of it just be rejected?
