My train after this one is listed as a compulsory reservation TER

It has a 47 mins total trip, Dijon to Culmont Chalindrey with 1 stop en route

I’m semi sure this is a data error and it’s not comp res. But we’ll see

@pglux.bsky.social no. I refused to pay €20. So I’ll take a premium TER via Chaumont instead!

@pglux.bsky.social Right. But Coradia Liner is ok in 1st class.

SNCF Connect can’t help me work out if it’s compulsory reservation. By now I think it just assumes everyone thinks everything is.

@pglux.bsky.social no. That guy is doing works. He’s not normally there. But yes, they installed new lighting. But the underpass still has a drainage problem and most of the platforms are full of holes.

                  So @12train makes it clear

                  The train is COMPULSORY RESERVATION

                  AAAAGGGGHHHHH

                  It’s a regional train for a 47 minute trip

Also how Dijon shows in @12train 🤬

If TER Fluo (ie Grand Est) operates the train: Dijon Ville

If TER Mobigo (ie Bourgogne Franche Comté) operates it: Dijon

                    It’s the same station

@jon It's a data failure. The 8:19 from Dijon to Culmont-Chalindrey is not reservation required, other trains from Culmont-Chalindrey are for the section Nogent-sur-Seine - Paris.

@jon I,m reading about this COMPULSORY RESERVATION. What is the idea behind this? Making more money or protecting something? I really don't understand this. Why not on all trains if it is important. Why this bullying off the travelers?

@jon @12train get the same with Edinburgh where some systems say "Edinburgh", others "Edinburgh (Waverley)", and I'm sure I've seen "Edinburgh (City Centre)" all refer to the same station. In my quick look at some apps it looks like the city centre variant isn't showing any more, but not all include the Waverley.

@jon @12train oh, the issue is with Djon is within the same app and journey plan results list. Ok that's a lot worse that the Edinburgh issue which is at least consistent within each app.

@smveerman I will ask the train manager. I assume it’s because it’s a Coradia Liner and a train number in the series of Paris Est - Belfort. It’s not only an Interrail or Merits data problem.

@bastro the railway would work better if fewer passengers took it.

@smveerman yes. But why if I book a ticket for it, is it asking me to choose a seat? Maybe I’m allowed to not do this, and I didn’t go through with the booking (obviously). At the very least it’s not well done.

@jon The combination of train number and having no way to make a train only part of the way reservation only are reasons I guess. It's also a solution to a non-existing problem.
