@ami_angelwings Gamelon from The Far Kingdoms (The Anteros) series by Allan Cole and Chris Bunch.He's a wizard (and a head of the wizard's guild on the city-state where the protagonists are) - typical old wise whitebeard man who joined a hero's journey regardless his age, lost in the battle his vision and thus magic abilities (mostly), but still didn't lose his desire to help with what he could do anyway, to share his wisdom and wit.I adopted that character's name as my username, though from a translation and with some modification, about 25 years ago.
