@meganL Amusing photo choice for that article…It really makes me consider what a small drop-ship service from Canada → USA could do as a side gig. Especially if focused on cyclists. This is not at all the first company I know of who has chosen to not ship to the USA.It started with pulling USPS out of the international postal agreements.

@Karstan sheldonbrown dot com is a good respurce for this. Lots of compatibility matrices there. For wider range you might consider an mtb cassette and rear mech. Box sells some durable 9 speed stuff. Some solve this problem by using wide range cassette and friction shifters to remove the indexing challenge you will inevitably face. Downtube shifters or something like the audax stuff from gevenalle

Yes another trip to a Premier Inn via some different roads courtesy of @bikerouter New rack worked very well - seems to have survived the terrible road surfaces. Lots of greenways today and some faster but quite quiet secondary roads.#cycling #BikeTooter

@howisyourdog Yes Peckleton is one of my favourite villages. There's a couple of very nice walks around there - easy enough for my wife - we did them several times during lockdown times. There's a sunken lane round the back of the church which is only passable in very dry weather. The pub became an Indian restaurant and is now a private house.If I could move there I certainly would (but I'll never have that sort of money!)
