CIRCLE WITH A DOT

Ooof broke a chain on a ride and realized I didn't have any way of fixing it. Luckily, I was uphill of the local bicycle shop, and rolled a mile downhill lol. Ended up paying for a new chain and for an install, rather than buying a chain tool and trying to fix a new chain in the parking lot, lol. #BikeTooter

@pete Yeah, it's a Sonder Broken Road that I have, the parts aren't stamped though so I assumed they were copies.

@redjives it is probably only with different bike, I just don't need the 15mm wrench because it is useless for modern bikes also the pliers are only useful for cable adjustments for me so I didn't bothered to pack them. It really depends what bolts and nuts you have on your bike. And as you pointed out for 2 people it can be divided so you can bring more tools. I traveled with the mindset to only patch the bike so I could get to the nearest bikeshop not to do complete repair.

Stayed out all day in the beautiful weather and managed to add up to 20 miles of riding. Started with bagels at a new nearby shop, then @timcoffman got a flat & we were under-prepared so decided to use our Better World Club membership for the first time, the teen & I headed to a local tea shop (it was lunchtime at this point), got the tire replaced (not just the tube), picked up a book order at a shop, biked along the cherry trees, got ice cream, headed home. Great day! #BikeTooter

Last year I had a foot injury. It's starting to warm up here, getting the itch to start cycling again. Cleaned my bike and ordered some shorts. #BikeTooter

Really lovely day out! Got a little warm towards the end of our ride - we need to remember to take breaks before we get overheated, out of practice. Saw a big pond slider turtle from the greenway. Discovered there is a bike rack near the Japanese grocery, missed that before. #BikeTooter

@ned In my lengthy years of advocating for more liveable cities I came across one theme that was repeated over and over by different people in positions that could have made the difference.Public transportation, walking, cycling are seen as a service for low income people who have no choice. Cars not only give "freedom" from the poor, they are a status symbol. Look at me, look at what I drive.No matter how many times they were reminded that all those people doing all those alternatives were saving in traffic, pollution and TIME, they couldn't get past the fact that people have been trained to hate those who are perceived to have less.

@yantor3d yep, so I can still around while one is fixed. You can also diversify for weather, cargo, and terrain. A nice light bike for long rides, something bulkier for shopping, a winter bike I don’t have to swap tires on, etc.
