A pile of old cars, dropped through a narrow opening, cascades into this abandoned Welsh slate mine. Daylight streams in from the same hole, illuminating twisted wreckages. Certainly. a strange site that raises questions and stirs emotions.

What do you see here? An unusually beautiful scene, accidentally created from careless dumping of cars? Or nothing more than an ugly pile of trash?

@ObsidianUrbex Ugly pile of trash in a beautiful location, the juxtaposition only enhances the tragedy...

@ObsidianUrbex To all who are fascinated in any way by this, I warmly recommend Robert MacFarlane's book Underland. The part when he climbs down into this dump and thinks about humans, waste, and nature is unforgettable! https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/apr/30/underland-a-deep-journey-by-robert-macfarlane-review

@ObsidianUrbex What aliens, in a few thousands of years, will find, studying the history of this planet.
Great photo, great light and reflections on the hypogean lake.

@ObsidianUrbex looks beautiful, and makes me think how toxic people are. Does they drained all fluids from those cars? I think they're not. So all toxins spread around in that beautiful scene. And will reach the wells of locals.
