@hpod16 to be honest, for most of the questions I have no clue, but am just guessing, trying to make use of common sense. Yet, till now, the majority of others and I seem to have guessed right, but this one is a tough one πŸ˜…

I picked "Supremacy of EU law over national law" simply because it's about two companies, we have had "Mutual recognition" already and I'm not sure what "Direct effect" even stands for 😏

I'm sorry about my ignorance about EU, but your polls sure help me improving πŸ™

@sunnythesheep direct effect means that people in your countries can apply EU law directly in their courts.
Some types of EU legislation have direct effect while others do not. For instance EU directives don’t have direct effect and have to first be transposed into international law by the member states. I always found it ironic that the type of law called a directive doesn’t have direct effect.

@hpod16 thank you, "Some types of EU legislation have direct effect while others do not." summarizes it quite well!

And yeah, haha "I always found it ironic that the type of law called a directive doesn’t have direct effect.", that sounds like an oxymoron to me 🀣

@hpod16 Would Mr Costa have known that his law suit over 20 EUR holds such sway over us? Mrs Defrenne was only told late in life that her name is synonymous with equal pay, apparently her labor union took care of everything -- Unlike Mrs Marckx who petitioned the ECtHR on behalf of her baby with the immortal words "Je suis un bΓ©bΓ© de dix mois et je porte plainte contra la Belgique" (equal treatment of kids in or out of marriage)

@hpod16 actually, as a child, purple was my favorite color, too. Today not so much, anymore, though πŸ™‚
