I just read an esoteric Jewish speculation that Adam's 'rib' was actually the penis bone (which humans oddly do not have) removed through the scar-looking tissue of the perianum.@jabgoe2089 "But, but why didn't I get a bone??"

Now I'm wondering how many other cultures have explanations for this odd area. It would seem to suggest that we are sewn back up like stuffed ragdolls from below.

Based on a conversation with @Tarnport i decided to bake a Roman style bread with the lees from my last batch of cider.@CarstenBoll meanwhile I've been reading about Roman parasites and why public health dropped to its lowest point all millennium at the height of the Empire and it may be that their fish sauce wasn't quite as fermented as we thought!

Have you ever ghosted someone?@alice I just want to say that I don't think you ghosted them. You ramped down then got red flags & then drew a healthy boundary. Ghosting in my book leaves no apparent reason, no warning or explanation, just poof, disappeance and silence - which yes, is very scary and uncertain for the ghostee. But I don't think we can blanket condemn it. There are good reasons to ghost if your safety is threatened, even if some folks abuse it for their own comfort. We all live and learn.

Jack Bryant.Jack Bryant. Untitled (woman with parasol), 1925.
This painting is so minor the auction house just calls it "Gibson Girl-style." It's really from a very different later era and I run into it frequently online, perusing the 10s-30s. I thought it was clever and appropriate for the Equinox today.

Any maple syrup experts / Canadians here?@Pepijn not at all. It varies in quality and also by year (and I've heard last year was not a good one), and this is industrial wholesale Costco brand - but a truly fine maple syrup is unlike anything else! Keep coming back, I hope.

The little native anemones are out, and so incredibly vivid.
