CIRCLE WITH A DOT

early in our marriage, the wife and i went to memphis mostly because i wondered what was there. this was before the kids came along. we stopped somewhere for a bite of food based solely on the smell and the music coming from inside. when we entered, we were met with good memphis #Blues music and the smell of the local #BBQ.

i never felt comfortable in a restaurant with my recently married to wife until then. it's because every time we entered a place there were looks, sneers, and whispers. my wife is african and i'm of random european descent (a.k.a white). however, there we found couples like us and mostly non-white people. and that sums up how i feel about the choices in places i take my family. the african american places (even the ones here in kansas city) don't give looks, sneers, or whispers when we enter. they just go about their business, whatever it is.

hmmm...international tabletop day is tomorrow and still a thing. time to drag at least the kids to a place.

the work week is almost over and i can relax. i'm thinking i'll listen to some delta #Blues, find some food to slather arthur bryant's #BBQ sauce on, and play #TTRPG. that's right, my dice are probably going to get a little gross from the sauce on my hands.

keep it #Weird #Fediverse! seriously! there are too many complications out there in the world. no need to have complication in your comings and goings.

we had 2 squirrels hanging out on our roof starting a month ago. while squirreling around, one fell off. i might very well be saddened by this.

one good thing about being remote is nobody is knocking at your office door to have a micro-meeting. the bad news is people think you can just leave work at any time to do any sort of thing or things.

@dansup @ashmeshedup exactly! even in a for-profit model, building for shareholders, while they provide cash, is not optimal. they're not the consumer. just a feeder.

seems trite, but one of my #ReasonsToBeCheerful is the family my wife and i created because i grew up in a severely dysfunctional household and vowed back then to create the family i needed. spoiler alert: the wife and i have.

@SunDancer @falk_ nifty! my first concert was when megadeth and iron maiden were on tour back in 2013. it would have been in early 2000's, but finances and mental health state didn't allow for it.

@kyonshi the singularity between caffeine and my blood is how i "get through the day". i feel this is like cholesterol in eggs. they'll bounce around a for a few decades more. maybe. if there's that much time left.

i feel like companies becoming dependent entirely on #AI to reduce staffing are loudly announcing their various and/or continued commitments more as a ways of convincing themselves they did the right thing than convincing their audience.

@Mrfunkedude we were butt poor, so you ate what you could find. for me, it's bullion cubes with crackers and some red pepper flakes. it was a meal and a half for me (and still kind of is).
