My girlfriend was surprised when I asked her to get me some Frosted Mini Wheats for breakfast.
"This tastes like depression era food." she told me.
The thing is, when I was a child, my mother had me on this special diet where I couldn't eat anything with artificial flavors or coloring. The recommendation came from my pediatrician who had diagnosed me with ADHD and recommended the diet based on a book from a leading pediatrician.
Frosted Mini Wheats was an approved morning cereal.
So I grew a taste for it. I would get it nice and soggy in the milk and go to town on it.
I still love it to this day.
My question to you is, what simple food do you still enjoy from your childhood that the people around you would question?

@Mrfunkedude we were butt poor, so you ate what you could find. for me, it's bullion cubes with crackers and some red pepper flakes. it was a meal and a half for me (and still kind of is). -
