  • I was unhappy Apple’s tools to import Spotify “Liked Songs” dumped everything into my “Favorites” list.
    nuthatch@infosec.exchangeN nuthatch@infosec.exchange

@sdarlington these were Spotify likes, so not surprising a handful not on Music. I sometimes find my Bandcamp purchases are “uploaded” to Music rather than “matched” so I’m adding to their library? At least to match my mine.

I think the reverse may be more common, bands removing their albums from Spotify. And Bandcamp in turn has few big label bands, even small ones locked into distribution deals. The whole thing is a mess lol

The disparity in numbers is from Spotify tracks that aren’t available in Apple Music. I’ve only “starred” 287 songs in my iTunes Music Library over the years, having only started recently adding one song from each album (“Why did I buy this album again?”)

I’ll probably end up trying to manually copy over the 3,527 Liked Songs from Spotify somehow. I’d like some way to listen to them in Apple Music without, you know, adding thousands of random singles to my library. Seems possible?

I did select the 3,599 songs and created a “Too Many Favorites” to dig through later. Unfortunately they’re pretty much in random order!

I was unhappy Apple’s tools to import Spotify “Liked Songs” dumped everything into my “Favorites” list. The fix was to view Favorite Songs “as Songs” (View menu) sort by Cloud Status to find the Apple Music tracks, and Undo Favorite. I’m now back to my original Favorites again.

  • Question for the runners out there: What do you do with your phone?
    nuthatch@infosec.exchangeN nuthatch@infosec.exchange

@harshil to be clear, a running belt holds phone in the small of your back. I always run with a phone, accidents happen, not a Watch guy. Mostly it’s a camera. Longer runs I use tights with thigh pockets. Short runs I often just hold the phone in my hand like an animal. For context, I run 40-50 miles a week.

@bruienne the robot voices are on the record! I assume it’s a live take… they seem like math-rock players, nail the performance and just hammer it out with minimal variation. So when they’re live it’s the same thing, no cheats.

I kinda hope they don’t bother wearing outfits while recording. Then they can look at each other for cues, hard to do with a mask over your head 😆
