@harrysintonen I actually do think it’s safe, the way it’s currently implemented, but it’s definitely not interoperable, for good and for bad. I definitely trust Apple’s intentions with my data more than I would trust Meta’s, just to give one example. But I would like to have the freedom to decide what model to trigger from my computers, and that’s where it falls down, I guess.

I, for one, hail our EU overlords for staying their ground and not bending over to Apple. -
On the plus side of the design language, look at this and tell me we’re not almost back to iOS 6 levels of chrome.@stroughtonsmith A return to being able to tell UI elements apart from each other will be so nice. Can you imagine being able to tell at a glance whether something is a text label, a web link or a button?

Should I switch from #Fedora to #Archlinux?@miked My opinion is that Fedora is a good OS if you mainly want a stable platform for getting things done, while Arch may be a better choice if you’re interested in tinkering with your OS for the sake of tinkering. Both are good operating systems, and the Arch wiki is legendary even among people not running Arch, but in my experience Fedora just keeps working year after year while Arch can’t be trusted to not break occasionally, and reading change logs for your installed packages - at the very least after the fact - is more or less necessary to keep downtime to a minimum.
