@b_cavello The same friend who plays Diable also plays digital versions of Yugio and Magic the Gathering. Again, not sure if the accessiblity is built in or done via mods.

Some blind people also play Stardew Valley because the audio design is apparently very good. They by use OCR to read the game text and menus.

A blind friend of mine plays the latest Diablo game. Not sure if accessibility is built in by the devs or if it's some sort of mod. There's a history of mods being made for games that make them more accessibll. One of the earliest was a mod for Quake 2 I think.

Hearthstone is an accessible trading card game.

@alienghic @b_cavello Text adventures are accessible. There's an app called Frotz for IOS that has many loaded into it that you van play. I like Curses and Anchorhead in particular.

@b_cavello Oops. One last thing. I can't forget RS Games, which has made many accessible games for like the last fifteen years. I love their accessible version of Scrabble in particular. It also has visuals so blind players can play with their sighted friends, at least Scrabble does. Not sure about the other games.

@b_cavello There are also MUDs, basically text-based MMORPG-style games. The most popular among blind people is Alteraeon, which I play quite a bit these days. There's a custom windows client for blind players that includes sound effects and a lot of customizability to make the game more immersive and accessible.

Most of the games for blind/VI people are accessible versions of card, dice, puzzle, and word games. There are also some audio versions of games like Breakout. A company called Blindfold Games makes a ton of these, and others.

And while I'm at the task of saying things that might be seen as Devisive️, any asshole writing think pieces about how the "trans tipping point" is over and "we" lost can print out ten thousand copies of their horseshit and carefully insert each one of them into their ass.

Nobody gets to declare that a fight that doesn't directly affect them is over, and you're an asshole who doesn't properly value other peoples lives if you do. Appeasing nazis is nazi shit.

That means that many racially marginalized people are also disabled, many trans people are also disabled, etc. And pretty much none of us have the fuck-you money required to leave the US and settle elsewhere. Aside from that, many of us wouldn't be willing to abandon the members of our networks and communities so we could flee, but it does illustrate something about where too many white, cishet, abled liberal's minds go to when shit starts hitting the fan.

Bitter humor aside, disabled people have spent at least the last decade pointing out that most nation state's have restrictive and cruel immigration policies that disallow us from fleeing to them. It's also far past time for people to acknowledge and remember that systematic/institutional marginalization is one of the biggest and most consistent determinants of disability, both acquired and congenital.

Given how far people have allowed this institutional transphobia to go, I think every day should be buy a trans person pizza day. There certainly are enough "marginalized people can flee to Canada" ass liberals to buy all of us pizza several times over.
