@marc_eu @zenrenji maybe if advertisers weren't greedy and constantly making ads worse, they wouldn't be blocked. they couldn't just be static images. they had to use flash, they had to track you, and they had to consume more resources than the actual page.

also ad networks suck at keeping bad actors from buying ads. so blocking them is reasonable for security alone.

@claude_flammang Home Assistant, an open-source home automation suite, now has a number of AI-powered "features".

The whole reason I use it to begin with, is that I absolutely don't want AI touching my cameras, sensors in my house, etc. If I was okay with that, I'd just use a proprietary solution and slap a few Ring cameras up.
