If you're a Mastodon server admin, you can control whether or not your members can invite people to join. However, this setting is a bit hidden and not in an obvious place:1. Go to Preferences > Administration > Roles > Default Permissions, tick or untick the box marked "Invite Users"2. Click "Save Changes"To cancel existing invitations:1. Go to Preferences > Moderation > Invites2. Click "Deactivate" to deactivate a particular invitation, or "Deactivate All" for all of them#MastoAdmin

@homegrown whoa, that’s rad. I had no idea this exists.With closed registration, an empty allow list, and all posts set to followers-only, you could essentially have a walled garden among friends.

@mikelovesbikes @homegrown It's a large instance that is poorly moderated but still has plenty of legitimate members. Because of this I've had mastodon.cloud limited here for about 2 years to allow follow relationships while preventing spam from spreading.I don't recommend a block. I recommend limiting IMHO.
