CIRCLE WITH A DOT

As a child of immigrants, my folks always made sure we had poppies for Nov. 11 Remembrance Day.
They fall off, so when crotchety old white men like #DonCherry only see #POC not wearing poppies & b*tch about it, it comes off like an bigoted attack on people who don't look like him or who he thinks are "Canadian".
My family & I also #vote in every election, which is an act that actually honours service members & vets versus pinning some small plastic to your clothes.

Are the ppl they surveyed not regular weather checkers? When those folks hear about flooding, fires, storm surges & other extreme weather events, are they not connecting the dots? Are they still buying the "once in every thousand year occurrence" BS timeline?

I stumbled upon a clip of this from my friend's Instagram reel & watched the whole thing on YouTube right after. I didn't realize it was made in 2021, but the messages & discussions are still very relevant today.
It's a roundtable of famous Asian-American actors, athletes, chefs, comedians & advocates sitting down to share a dinner & discuss their experiences as an #Asian in a safe space.
I recommend watching it for the community & camaraderie (including the delicious food!) but also for the important promotion of #DiversityEquityInclusion in these times where #POC experiences & identity are being attacked by white nationalism.

I'm enjoying the limited edition #Lindt dark strawberry flavour they have out for V day. It's Lindt's play on chocolate-covered strawberries.
I feel like they shrunk these (another #shrinkflation example) due to increased cocoa prices, but I'm going to keep an eye out for day-after sales for these.
