First time I ever saw one was at Bill Lewis Music in Vancouver when I was a teenager. A white Gibson and it was way out of my price range. Didn’t bother trying it out. It was purchased pretty quickly, I think it might have been Jerry Doucette, who used it when he recorded Mama Let Him Play. Unsurprisingly he never used it (as far as I’m aware) when he played it live.

I really try and avoid using a capo. When I do use one, I tune the guitar without the capo on. I’m sure once the capo is placed the tuning would be a few cents out, but not enough to be overly noticeable.

My guitar hero was Jimmy Page, and when I saw Epiphone advertising a limited run of 500 I figured it would be really cool to own one. Page always referred to his as “the beast” and trying this one out I couldn’t agree more. It’s tuning heads heavy, so trying to stand with it you have to put a lot of pressure on the top of the body with your elbow and upper arm to prevent it dropping down. And sitting, not going to work. The coolness factor quickly faded.

This is my 2014 limited edition Epiphone G-1275 double neck guitar. Since I’m not using it at all I’ve decided to take it into my dealer and get it appraised. Depending on what they value it at I could get 70% of that value from them. Hoping they come back with a reasonable offer. #Guitar #GearSquad #MusicProduction
