This is like the conversations our town had with some university students about sustainable energy innovations.

Them, excited, clutching their speaking notes: “We have worked out that if you had a way to move individuals collectively from one place to another, for a fee that amounted to less than the total cost of ownership of their cars over a measured period, and was dependable enough for the majority of people that the cost of switching was minimized, then you would significantly reduce carbon emissions, road repairs, and traffic jams.”

Me, in my outside voice: “So you’ve invented buses.”

@SonOfManagement The National Piping Centre in Glasgow has a separate microwave for heating bagpipe sheepskin bag seasoning. It’s used to coat the inside of a sheepskin or hide bag to make it more airtight. It is not synthetic.

I started writing a grumpy post but who needs that?

So here’s an idea: A travel blog whose only theme is #bagpipes.

Where to stay, where to eat, cool attractions, history, etc. And in every post, bagpipes feature prominently. Pipers, events, themes, museums…

Away you go and create BagpipeLand, Pipestodons. Make me proud.

One thing Canadians are really good at is being flexible when the world changes around us. Freezing temps, snow, heat, blackflies, mosquitoes, hurricanes, tornadoes…

Be patient, look after your neighbours, and don’t waste your time on bullsh*t. The world will bring you grief, so don’t go looking for it.
