I haven't been spending much time on Mastodon lately, as it seems to carry too much sad and depressing news. I hopped on this morning thanks to tag alerting me to the potentially precarious state of mstdn.ca.

Soooo.... In light of all of that, are there any (preferably Canadian) instances that are well-managed and perhaps contain more happy and uplifting toots?

@projektmyra Interesting. So you have that option in Libby to "read with Kindle?" I definitely do not, in Canada.

Is the "Read with Kindle" option in Libby still only available in the US? Why??

Does anyone have any hacks for people outside the US to get #Libby titles onto a Kindle?

(I have a Kobo as well, but the battery doesn't keep a charge, and also, my #Kindle Scribe is awesome for annotating!)

On the radio this morning, they were talking about smart glasses, like Meta glasses, and how people were being filmed without knowing it. Even people who owned them, and didn't realize other people could see what they were recording, or they forgot to turn them off, or they kept recording even when they were supposed to be off. So now there's an app you can use that will supposedly warn you when someone nearby has these smart glasses.

UGH.

I can't even anymore. STUPID PEOPLE. Like, you're wearing them, and you look in the mirror after your shower - naked. Or you put them down when you're going to have sex - right next to them.

And also - I don't want random people filming me!! Or my kids!!!!

A friend who disappeared from an online forum due to illness has reappeared and it has made me inordinately happy.
