@CommonMugwort @NilaJones Avgolemono bit aside you could still cheat this in a standard bain-marie if you lid the thing. Those silicone flat lids would do a decent job; I’ve also used them to steam small amounts of desserts in teacups in my steamer setup before.

Ok, I know my community on here isn’t really who needs to hear this, but I want to say it out loud anyway@Violinknitter Part of the exact reason that I’ve adopted as a general rule to assume whatever elevates the people with the least privilege and the least resources is going to buoy the rest of us eventually.

Ok, I know my community on here isn’t really who needs to hear this, but I want to say it out loud anyway@Violinknitter I think a lot of people sincerely believe that politics is isolated because they are themselves insulated and have been deliberately taught that what they consider familiar is “normal” and any deviation from that is “politics.” (This bears out on a depressing swath of the left as well.)

If Alice makes a followers-only post, and Bob replies to it, to whom should Bob's reply be visible?@mayintoronto @evan Friendica has a system that allows you to define lists comparable to reading lists for posts (or custom-add viewers to posts as you go) - that would resolve this whole situation, and allow people to have more contextual human-shaped discussions (like taking discussion in which you’re trying to find common ground with someone outside your political sphere to the kitchen at a party rather than having your most strident friends come to chew them out for not being already correct, or being able to plan the surprise party or tabletop twist without the whole world and the targets of said surprise hearing about it.) I really want it to get some renewed developmental interest for that reason - mastodon, akin to twitter before it, is sort of a public broadcasting system….

AI Controls (formerly 'kill switch') are landing in today's Firefox Nightly, and will land with Firefox 148 later this month.@dymaxion This did not get the recognition it deserves for breadth and lucidity despite high concision, so *thank you* for putting it out there, even if the prompting party was about as receptive as a shoe-pebble.
