When Isa arrived at the infirmary, the rest of the crew had already squeezed into the room.

Surya was fastened to one of the cots and held a drinking pouch in one hand and a snack in the other. His face looked gaunt and tired, but his expression was serious as he listened to the captain tell the story of his rescue.

"Where... are the others?" He asked, a sense of foreboding in his scratchy voice.

Captain Konrad slowly shook his head. "We only found you and Captain Leblanc. She did not make it."

Tears welled up in Surya's eyes, which he blinked away. "She was a good captain." A faint smile played around his lips. "She made sure I wouldn't give up..." His voice trailed off, and he took a deep breath; his eyes started wandering, hunting thoughts somewhere beyond infinity.

Isa felt a twinge in her chest and pushed to the front. His eyes focused on her. "Hi, I'm Isabelle, but everyone calls me Isa." She extended a fist, which he reflexively tapped with his snack hand. "I'm the navigator."

Surya raised an eyebrow. "Navigator?"

"It's a long story." Isa sighed. She looked at Rip. "I think we need more snacks."

Pack it up, a macOS rant.

I wanted to try a piece of proprietary software on my macbook, and the only way to install it is via the provided .pkg installer.

I don't like it, and now want to uninstall it again.

Lo and behold. Since the developer does not ship an uninstaller, there is no easy way to get rid of this piece of software.

The developer lists a bunch of directories I can clean up in their FAQ.

pkutil can show metadata and file lists, but to remove the package I have to glue that shit together with some awk and xargs sudo rm rm?

The fuck?

Tabbash the warrior recoiled with disgust. "Why would you do that?"

Sanjia frowned at him. "How else would I know what it is?" She held out her finger.

Tabbash took a step back. "Naaaaah."

"Coward." Beski the ranger leaned forward and smelled the finger. "Huh, smells like..." She raised her brow in surprise. "Chocolate?"

Tabbash frowned. "No way." He hesitated for a moment, then went in for a fast sniff and stepped back again. His face lit up in amazement. "THAT'S BORTENLANDS ALE!"

Sanjia smiled. "It's a smimic. A smell mimic which will lure you in with your favorite smell."

"What did you smell?" Beski asked.

Sanjia blushed.
