@paninid I’d say that a fair lesson to draw from German history would be “stop the fuckers asap, by any means necessary”, but that’s just me.

@paninid I'm gonna bet Americans will not learn but instead repeat the 1930 and 1940s, and after this ends the majority of them will say: nobody could have expected this horrible outcome. Or probably claim to always have opposed the regime. I'm gonna be bold and say, history is the teacher most ignored.

Lifesaving is the same in water as it is on land. We teach these in order of ascending personal risk:

Reach - out your hand, to help the oppressed

Throw - your voice, to call out wrongful behavior

Row - (I'm still working on adapting this one - it's either come back with a vehicle; or perhaps the archaic 'row' as in 'angry mob' (not pronounced that way)

GO - personally use the physical techniques you are learning today.
