Lifesaving is the same in water as it is on land. We teach these in order of ascending personal risk:

Reach - out your hand, to help the oppressed

Throw - your voice, to call out wrongful behavior

Row - (I'm still working on adapting this one - it's either come back with a vehicle; or perhaps the archaic 'row' as in 'angry mob' (not pronounced that way)

GO - personally use the physical techniques you are learning today.

Or probably claim to always have opposed the regime. I'm gonna be bold and say, history is the teacher most ignored.
