      @flexion how are you handling the graphical API side of things? Does the game use OpenGL and if not is there some readily available translation layer?

      @trodrigues there was a d3d and OpenGL 3.x backend in librw. I have added a new one for OpenGL 1.2 and removed shaders, because we don't have shaders on SGI/IRIX

          @aap ooh πŸ˜„ well, I took the OpenGL 3 stuff and removed the shaders for OpenGL 1.2 compatibility on SGI/IRIX.

            @flexion oh interesting. Yeah I was looking a bit more into what Renderware used (didn't know it could do both OpenGL and DirectX) and how this reverse engineering effort came to be (I remembered watching a video on the Dreamcast port but had forgotten the details).

            Super interesting stuff and so cool to see it happen!

              GTA3 on IRIX? πŸ€”
              After almost two days of troubleshooting this beast finally compiles without errors. Loads and converts textures and shows start menu. πŸ˜† Don't know yet if it will ever be playable or if I'm just wasting my time. At least distcc was a big help to reduce the time of countless compile attempts.

                  @flexion That’s very impressive, I love it!

                  Just curious: which FPS can be expected?

                    @stdevel I did not measure FPS yet, but without scaling it runs surprisingly fluid. Absolutely did not expect this! Just picked up Misty, dropped her at Luigis club in the red light district and finished Mission 1 πŸ˜†

                      GTA3 on IRIX. Finally got it to render 3D!!!
                      But there is still much to be done.

                      @flexion The renderings look cool.

                      I'm not really familiar with gfx programming, so sorry for the dumb question: It looks like the shaders are missing or not working? It's not the textures, right?
