@ami_angelwings Fingolfin. He walks up to Angband and challenges Morgoth to single combat. Wounds him seven times before he is slain.
Which becomes more impressive when you know who Morgoth is, and that he’s immortal.
There’s just something so primal about the whole thing. The general craziness of everything elf and just the most over the top bravado badassery that makes it somehow compelling anyways. A story about going up against the impossible odds and trying anyways.

(It’s Tolkien for anyone who didn’t want to know and didn’t look it up. And Morgoth is a Valar. Think Lucifer if there were only angels and he was the most powerful. Way above Gandalf.
Also Blind Guardian wrote a song about him, and all their Tolkien inspired songs are great.)

Frieren.
The character who proves that it's never too late to start taking life lessons to heart. The character who embodies "sometimes the real treasure was the misfit adventurers we teamed up with along the way." (Not to be found inside of a mimic, ma'am!) The character who learns that paying attention to the fine, important details is as vital in life as it is in magical combat.
@greyduck @ami_angelwings I like that for once they portray the issue of having a long life span around those that don’t. Especially since we see different coping from different characters.
Because very often (especially in anime/manga) elves have long ears and acts the age they look at the long lifespan’s effect on their personality/psyche is ignored.
What would it be to live for a thousand years in a perfect (health etc) body? Has got to be different.

Edelgard von Hresvelg, Princess/Emperor of Adrestia, Fire Emblem: Three Houses. To say that "she did nothing wrong" might be a stretch, and she *really* needs to vet her allies better, but she's a fascinating character... at least in better than half of the available timelines between the two titles (Three Houses and Three Hopes). (One of the Hopes routes is just... awful for her, deeply unpleasant.)
@greyduck @ami_angelwings She’s a great character, went with her for my one and only play through (I play slow, so I can’t motivate more than one play through). No hesitation.

The actors themselves, having moved on to other things, mostly circus, were amazed that a show they'd done decades before was still being watched and was still so beloved.

@ami_angelwings Frieren is probably my #FavCharacterF since there's something about a character like her watching life pass her by because she's so single-minded and effectively culturally different from the people around her, that then realizes that the world is happening around her all the time and there's joy to be found in that. She (and the show) are so contemplative and thoughtful and that's had a very tangible effect on my life

@ami_angelwings His name is technically "Ramón", "don" being a prefix like "mr", but everyone in the show, and the show's presentation, calls him "don Ramón".
Only an old lady with a perennial unrequited crush on him calls him "Monchito" from time to time.
Yes, it's not his name, but nobody ever calls him anything else.
