I believe they call this phenomenon "ratio" on the social media website twitter dot com.

The flatpak.org setup page includes "setup" instructions for at least 7 distros which do not have SystemD, including Alpine, Void, Guix, Slack, Pisi, Salix, and Gentoo. All of those distros are actively maintained, work on modern hardware, and are endorsed by flatpak now.

More people will work on the more standard configs. And flatpak 1.0 is parallel installable - you don't lose anything.

Then we'll see where people send contributions. not up to me.

@jorge @flammableengineering @LAS @2something This is certainly an interesting thing to say as people actively move away from systemd-based distros due to the negative direction it has taken. You're welcome to develop software as you please, but don't be surprised when you experience hostility and the number of users drops - including me, who will no longer be able to use it after having had it be part of my setup for years.

as the current openrc maintainer and developer, i guess i don't exist? nor does alpine, gentoo, guix, slackware, void, debian (yes debian supports non-systemd installs), and others?
