    @GuitarSith That's a nice looking bass. I'm hoping some day to give a friend who's in a few bands a tour of my guitar den and see what he thinks. I may want to sell or donate some.

    I haven’t played it since I purchased my Fender Jazz bass a few years ago, and it seemed pointless to have it just sitting around. It was actually too harsh for my tastes as well, more suited for metal I think. Most of my guitars are going on sale over the next while, I just can’t justify having so many guitars anymore given the state of the arthritis in my hands now.

        I try to play bass. I’m sure any real bassist would be laughing hysterically at me trying to play bass like it was a guitar. 😂

        I purchased a Fender Jazz bass in 2022 that I’ll be keeping. The Ibanez was just a bit too harsh sounding to me, probably well suited for metal, but not for what I’ve been doing. The Fender is much more versatile.

        You’re going to love the bass line in Be My Girl. It was insane playing at 135bpm. 😱

            @GuitarSith Looks familiar! I've got the 5-string variant.😀

              @GuitarSith @ambergrey I'm sure you're fine on bass. At least you understand how much they differ. I occasionally play guitar as well and I fear how actual guitarists might perceive that.

                  Nice! Not being a true bass player I figured four strings would be enough of a challenge.

                    I get by, but I just can’t use my fingers, I’m too uncoordinated. I’m sure that using a pick is quite discernible to someone who is a real player. There are a number of excellent guitarists on the other hand that don’t use a pick. Jeff Beck and Allan Holdsworth spring to mind immediately.

                      @GuitarSith I'm not a bass player either, that it hanging between my 6-strings. Perhaps this Ibanez line is the weapon of choice for us pretend bassists? Also I agree with you on the sound - I like those active pickups and it's great for metal.
