    @Sfwmson @benroyce @crcollins @spreadthetruth @retech my current response to those people is “thank you for the current SCOTUS. I am certain that as a cishet white male ( because for fucks sake they are cishet white males 99.9% of the time ) it will be quite some time before they impact you. Bravo.”

      @RegGuy @retech

      Joe you need to to remove socialism from your list

      Democrats think Sweden, Denmark and Norway are socialist

      Republicans think China, Venezuela and Russia are socialist

      so i want to sidestep the inevitable argument about what socialism means and simply note that the term is just a lightning rod in the USA for endless pointless bickering over word definitions

      international observers: you may laugh, the USA is a land of morons dealing with decades of propaganda hangover

          @retech @benroyce @DonChacale @spreadthetruth Performative cynicism will get us nowhere. Generalization will get us nowhere. There are no pure socialist societies. There are no pure capitalist ones either. They are all blends. Intelligent participation adjusts the blend for the better. There is nothing more privileged than calling for revolution, to burn it all down. Because you know you will survive. Want people to vote? Stop telling them their vote doesn't matter.

                  And just because a country calls itself, socialist, or democratic, or even a republic, does not mean it is one.

                  (and beware f those that think that being a republic and a democracy are mutually exclusive)

                    "Because you know you will survive"

                    most of those cosplaying revolutionary will not survive a real revolution

                    furthermore, revolutions are not bastions of ideological purity. whoever wins could be worse. even if by some miracle something better does win, the new regime will still deal with impotent purists whining "but i want perfect, waah"

                    toxic idealists who bizarrely defer to revolution are excuse making for their own uselessness

                      ok but you said women, not the woman

                      you should make your point in a general fashion. because you're going to get accused of misogyny, and that would be a fair accusation because of your wording

                      and you didn't have to delete it, just remove the unnecessary gendering

                      it was really bizarre

                            There is no real communism, socialism, democracy, capitalism or any of the other myriad of political constructs. The only way to build a government that is 'for the people' is to start at the bottom & ask the people. Build from the bottom up not the top down. Figure out what to call it after it's done. I lean toward a Democracy however the people define it.

                              @A_Minion @retech @benroyce @DonChacale @spreadthetruth "start at the bottom & ask the people." That is voting. Unfortunately a whole lot of people shrug and say "I dunno." or "I don't care." A whole lot more are manipulated into voting against their own interests, and another majority don't understand that, in a democracy, nobody gets everything thery want, so they stay home and bitch instead of doing the work.

                                  Won't argue but they get so crossed up that it seems they are all trying to do the same things. No matter what kind of Political theory there is an attached economic platform. They go hand in hand. The KISS principle.

                                    @benroyce @the5thColumnist @farbel @retech @DonChacale @spreadthetruth people (especially Americans) are generally not smart, and only believe what talking heads on networks owned by a corrupt billionaire tell them.

                                    What's an Americans average reading comprehension level again, 5th grade? Yeah, we are cooked. No wonder we are headed for full on fascism.

                                      @bridgeenjoyer @the5thColumnist @farbel @retech @DonChacale @spreadthetruth

                                      i agree except with your conclusion

                                      cynicism is self-fulfilling prophecy

                                      we fight

                                      we always fight

                                      and any argument against fighting, such as cynicism, only aids fascism

                                        @benroyce @the5thColumnist @farbel @retech @DonChacale @spreadthetruth I'd like to agree ; but I'm really not convincing anyone, just annoying my friends who will further ignore everything I say.
