Bought an IKEA bookcase and, heeding advice regarding weight, paid for assembly… only for a screw up resulting in the guy expecting tiny drawers and refusing the bookcase
️ No refund. Decided to embrace the times by ignoring experts, doing my own research on YouTube, and winging it with a mallet.(For those desirous of explanation: I’d ordered the bookcase with a set of small drawers that go into one of the shelves. When I’d booked “assembly” via the IKEA website, they’d booked it for just the drawers and I didn’t notice. The fault… technically mine… but I was too pissed off to pay again!
The YouTube video showed a woman about my size managing this with a few clever tricks to avoid bodily lifting the finished shelf into position. I’m on it

There’s two broken-off dowels. Never mention this to me again.
For some god unknown reason, I decided a cupboard would be GREAT on one of the shelves. You apparently screw this directly into the wood (no pre-drilled holes) so it’s a one-shot terrifying situation.

If something goes wrong installing the cupboard, remove it, get some wood filler, fill the holes, let it harden well, and try again. -

We have a cupboard! There’s a still a set of drawers (…the ones the IKEA dude came to assemble… oh the circle) but… I’m going to watch a movie.
