    Such very round goats.

    Such intense derpy-ness.

It's also a Good Cloud Day, which is excellent. New Zealand has great clouds, but the huge prairie sky is my favourite!

@sundogplanets does your dog seem to have a sense when their goats are getting ready to birth?

The #BabyGoatCountdown is down to 2 days, so tonight will be the first 2am barn check. Mostly just because I have 5 goats all due on Thursday, so the odds are better that someone will be a little earlier. Nobody looked imminent, and it's not super cold (this is WAY less stressful than kidding time when it's -25C out!) But a 2am check seems like a good idea tonight.

The only downside to the much warmer temperatures for #BabyGoatCountdown this year is that the babies won't need ear-warmers made from socks.

@sundogplanets I remember those days. Baby monitor in the barn, light and interrupted sleep. My goat husbandry book (no internet then, mostly) said, โ€œlook for unusual behaviorโ€ to know the time is near. But, staring hard at goats for hours, there is a lot of unusual behavior.
