Baby monitor in the barn, light and interrupted sleep. My goat husbandry book (no internet then, mostly) said, “look for unusual behavior” to know the time is near. But, staring hard at goats for hours, there is a lot of unusual behavior.

Mostly just because I have 5 goats all due on Thursday, so the odds are better that someone will be a little earlier. Nobody looked imminent, and it's not super cold (this is WAY less stressful than kidding time when it's -25C out!) But a 2am check seems like a good idea tonight.
