Annual compliance training day!
-
@dramypsyd have they mentioned if any of this changes when dealing with governments contacts?
@mensrea Nope! But they did tell me that nobody is allowed to sexually harass me
-
@dramypsyd Do you have to take tests? Ours are always like "Which of the following is unethical" and the choices are like "eat a lollipop, visit a friend, admire some art, or murder children".
And then the next question will be some esoteric thing so far down the decision tree I may as well be guessing.
Always makes me laugh.
@gwcoffey I once had a HIPAA training test ask me if I should dispose of records by 1) secure shredding, 2) never dispose of records, or 3) throw them on the floor

@dramypsyd Ah I see we take tests from the same publisher.

āDo not submit an invoice for services you did not renderā ok I wonāt, Iām so glad we had a training on this
@dramypsyd yes but just think of all the CPD credits youāre getting!

Hey can I say something? In 2026 people should not need to be told that men can be harassed too. Fuck you if you think a man canāt be a victim of harassment.
-
Annual compliance training day! So far Iāve learned:
- Iām not allowed to bribe anyone even if theyāre outside the US
- Iām not allowed to commit fraud
- HIPAA is still a thingWill keep you all updated
This is still my favorite depiction of bribery from a compliance training I had to take once.

@dramypsyd To support your point, I experienced harassment back in the ābefore timesā when I thought I was a guy. And in multiple occasions.
People really shouldnāt need to be told that anyone can be a victim of harassment. That should just be a known fact in the Year of Perpetual Horrors 2026.

@alex Right! Why is this news to people? Unless we are immediately firing anyone who gets that question wrong

@dramypsyd We should clarify what kind of āfiringā we're talking about.
HR paperwork, or like⦠fired out of a cannon, dropped through a trapdoorā¦
-
@quadrivial Yes they are covering that now! No abusing clients OR harassing them
@dramypsyd very important to know. š¤Ŗ

Today these seem quaint. But can I take 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia to attack Iran? Huh Huh pleeease

@dramypsyd I go through the same thing, twice-yearly, basically every six months about the same concepts.

Obviously you're not a Republican. -

Yeah, I have to go through that training every year. Who the hell is going to bribe a software engineer, and when will I ever get the opportunity to bribe anyone? Just leave me alone with an editor and a compiler and let me get on with it.
ISTM that this training is an expensive arse-covering exercise for someone further up the food chain.
