@freya I have zero idea. Trying to avoid LLMs feels like a fool's errand to me because they are EVERYWHERE.

@freya @feoh Devuan is basically all the grumpy Debian veterans who were pissed that the init system was replaced *AT ALL* on Debian, so they forked.

@dashdsrdash You would get along with my other friend from Derry, NH who was also a disciple of djb for yonks and ran djbdns until it died of old age πŸ™‚

I will freely admit to not caring that much about init systems.

SysV init worked just fine for my needs for a very long time. It had warts and shortcomings, but all software does.

nosh does look neat. It definitely "feels" more UNIX-y than systemd, which feels more like an enterprise developer decided to write an init system, missed Spring and Hibernate, and lift and shifted them over to their new project, if only in spirit and bulk πŸ™‚

@techokami @CursedSilicon @feoh i knew there was a reason i was giving devuan a very wide berth - i'd forgotten that was it.

bookmarked now, so i don't forget again 😞

@millihertz @techokami @feoh Some days I feel like a bard but all I ever do is tell tales of people being complete fucking assholes
